Doors opened at the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home in 1979. Since then the Nursing Home at Murphy Medical Center has a well-earned reputation for quality care and over 20 years of meeting the healthcare needs of the community. The 120-bed nursing home and 14-bed Alzheimer’s Unit is unique in that it has the convenience and advantage of immediate access to the hospital and all its services, yet maintains its own individuality. In fact, it is one of the largest nursing homes in the state. The on-site services available to residents include a pharmacy and laboratory, IV therapy and X-ray testing; therapeutic recreation, occupational, physical and speech therapies; cardiopulmonary care, wound care, dental care and podiatry care; and dietary and social services support. The property offers a solarium, gazebo and courtyard. The Nursing Home is equipped and staffed for long-term care, intermediate care and subacute rehabilitational care.
