Spring 2009 DAISY Award

Murphy, NC  – Katie Gore, RN, was honored with the hospital’s second DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She is a certified infusion nurse in the Same Day Care Unit. The award is part of The DAISY Foundation's program to recognize the superhuman efforts nurses perform every day. The Practice Council selected from nine nominees in the hospital and nursing home. Each nurse was recommended by a colleague, a patient, or a patient’s family member. The other nominees were:  Joann Galloway, RN; Judy Herr, RN; Kammy Holloway-Neal, RN; Liz Kephart, RN; Lisa Moss, LPN; Debbie Shelton, RN; Doris Soles, RN; Wendy Spiva, RN.

Katie enjoys working each day to make her patients comfortable and well.
