Murphy Medical Center’s accredited Diabetes Self Management Program is offered to residents in North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. Led by Susi Brown RN, she is certified by the American Diabetes Educators Association, and has been educating employees with diabetes and their family members since 2006. 

The Diabetes Self Management Program offers education on diabetes management, understanding and measuring the body’s sugar level, and healthy eating options. Patients must be under a physician’s care, and a written order and referral is required from the doctor. The program is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies that cover diabetes self management training.
